Girls Softball gets 2nd at state!!!!!

Yesterday was the state championship for Ellensburg girls fastpitch. They won their first game so we went down to Selah to see the final game... in all its 96 degree gloriousness. It was a tied game until team (Burlington Edison) scored 4 points. So Ellensburg lost but they played their hearts out.

Congrats Sarah and Josie!!!

Nursery update

Here's updated photos of the nursery. Its finally coming together and we're just picking up the little things now.

36 weeks

Here's a couple new belly shots... and showing off my camera :)

I can't believe it's already been 36 weeks... with only 4 weeks to go! Time seems to have flown by over the last 9 months. I go to the dr tomorrow for my first internal exam and he'll be checking for Group B Strep (NOT looking forward to that). He'll check to see if I've started dilating and he'll also let me know if he's comfortable letting me go to Ellensburg for the weekend. I'm hoping and praying that we'll get to go since it'll be the last time that I'll get to see the boys (they're leaving for Malibu on the 7th) before Carver comes.

Here's what's going on with the lil monkey:
Baby's skin is getting smooth and soft, his gums are rigid, his liver and kidneys are in working order, and his circulation and immune system are basically good to go. His lungs are the only organs that still need to fully mature, but every day he gets a little closer to breathing on his own.

How far along? 36wks 0 days
Total weight gain/loss: up 22lbs as of my appt 2 weeks ago. I go in tomorrow
Maternity clothes? tops are getting shorter but there's no sense in buying more now. On to nursing tops!
Stretch marks? nothing new... just the couple on my left hip
Sleep: not much... definitely getting more uncomfortable
Best moment this week: buying some necessities off the registry with completion coupons and gift cards; getting the carseat in the car!
Movement: nonstop! He's running out of room
Food cravings: strawberries and water
Gender: Still a boy
Labor Signs: braxton hicks and nesting
Belly Button in or out? still hasn't popped!
What I miss: shaving my legs without acrobatics
What I am looking forward to: dr's appt tomorrow and *hopefully* going to ellensburg for the weekend
Weekly Wisdom: relax while you still can
Milestones: Almost done with the birth announcements!

Mothers Day BBQ

Since Chris has his new toy (the BBQ) we decided to throw a Mothers Day BBQ with both of our families. Here's some of the pictures from the day. Cody took a majority of them, so I can't take credit for all the awesome pictures. :)

he he hoo...

Today we had our all-day birthing class. It was a long day (9am-5pm) but it was very informative. I left feeling 1000x more at ease about the whole birth process than when we arrived. We got to have the class at the new St Anthonys hospital in Gig Harbor. *We won't be giving birth there (they're not doing deliveries... yet) but it was nice to walk through the hospital.*

We learned how to recognize labor, different labor positions and breathing techniques, the different medications and types of birth.

A family friend of mine, Chris Cooper, and his wife were in our class. :) We hadn't seen them since the wedding so it was good to catch up with them. They're due a week before us so that's exciting.

In other news, its at least 77 degrees here and our house is hot after being closed up all day. So I'm going to change into shorts and sit on the deck while Chris BBQ's dinner. :)

Before I was a Mom...

I got this in an email from my grandma and decided to share. :)

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a
simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a
million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.!
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone
so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of
the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling
so much,
before I was a Mom .

Mother's day!

First of all, last night was the second - and last - baby shower! It was a lot of fun and almost everyone that we invited was able to come! We (Carver) got a lot of fun stuff that I can't wait to use. :) I'll post pictures soon.

Today is my very first Mother's day! I'm still not used to the fact that I am/will be a mom. Weird! Anyways, my day started out pretty good. Chris went and got me a latte, doughnuts, pink tulips (my fav) and a memory chip for my camera!

We're hosting a BBQ today for both sides of our family. It should be really fun and so far, the weather is cooperating. Once I figure out how to upload pictures from my new camera I'll put them on here.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MY MOMMY FRIENDS AND FAMILY! :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

So, today's my birthday. Don't really know how to feel about it. I love it, but it also means that I'm getting older. I've never put much planning into my birthdays and this year I'm not getting a present from Chris (he combined our anniversary and my birthday to get me the camera) so there's nothing to really look forward to today. Just another ordinary day.

That's all. Now I'm going to buy myself a coffee.

Nursery update

Here's some new pictures of the nursery...

Here's the rocking chair that Grandma Debbie bought us as a shower present. We found it, unfinished, at a furniture store in Tacoma and Chris painted it.

I finally got that handpainted drawer pulls that I ordered on Ebay and put them up!

Here's close ups of the four different drawer pulls! They're monkeys!!!
