The long awaited pictures!

Between sick babies and Chris continually taking the camera to work, I didn't get many pictures in the last month or so. :( But here's the pictures I did get.

Ho Ho Ho!!! Carver had a little too much fun with his penne alfredo.

The best $200 toy Carver could've asked for. haha We had to buy a chest freezer to store the deer meat and this was the box from that. Chris cut a door and windows to make a house. The boys had a blast!

I snapped these while I, impatiently, waiting for all of these pictures to upload from my camera. I seriously had to unplug-replug the camera a million times!

We've gone Green!!!

We've been talking about getting an SUV for about a year now. We'd narrowed it down to the Toyota Highlander. It has the 3rd row and all the space we need. Well on Saturday, we were out and about and decided, sine we had the truck, we'd go look at the Highlander and just make sure that it's the car we want. We even went to a dealer that we KNEW we weren't going to buy from. Toyota is having a 60month with ZERO PERCENT financing!!!! So we called the dealer we were going to buy from and talked to the guy we bought my Jetta from. He ran some numbers and we kept going back and forth. Sunday, we decided to go into the dealer and see what 2010s they had left since that's what the sale was on. Well...

WE BOUGHT IT!!!!! We got a 2010 Toyota Hylander Hybrid!!!
We originally wanted the Limited Edition since it had all the extras we wanted but we ended up paying to get the leather heated seats for a fraction of the price that it would've been to upgrade to the limited.

So Chris and Carver ran home in the truck while I finished signing papers and came back with the car. It'll have to go to the shop for about 3 days to get the seats done but they'll give me a rental car. I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!

16 Months Old

Well, true to form, I'm late in getting this post. haha Carver's had a bunch of 'firsts' this month so let's get to it!

Words:
  1. Flower
  2. Down (as in "you're going down!")
  3. Dog (not new, but saying a lot more)
He can now sign:
  1. Please
  2. Thank you (sometimes from the face of the person he's thanking)
  3. Work (he learned this one in 5 days!)
He's on the verge of running! Heaven help us!
He LOVES reading books! Right now his favorites are:
  1. Love you Forever
  2. Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb (Dr. Seuss)
  3. our wedding albums! He gets them off the shelf and flips through them!
Favorite foods include:
  1. PB & J sandwiches
  2. Yogurt
  3. Pudding
  4. String cheese
  5. Bananas
He LOVES to Skype! Especially with Maggie girl (Nana's dog)!
That's all I can think of right now. I know I'm forgetting something but this will have to do. :)

Choosing a Name

I just had an interesting realization. I know 4 people who's daughters share names with dogs that I've owned growing up. Here's a list of the names of dogs I've had in my life (not including dogs Chris and I have had)...
  • Ebony
  • Coco
  • Duchess
  • Midnight
  • Sadee
  • Ruby
  • Maggie (Magdelina)
Now, here's the names of 'babies' I know.
  • A lady in my Mom group's daughter is COCO
  • My friend Staci's daughter is SADIE
  • Chris's best friend's niece is RUBY
  • My friend in Georgia's daughter is MAGGIE (MAGNOLIA)
Interesting huh?

Opening Day

Today was opening day of hunting season for deer with a rifle. Chris has gone the last few years with my brother but always seems to let Jake take the shot since Jake's been hunting longer. Well, this year Jake decided to try archery and got a buck with his bow. This means that he is done for the season - which means that Jake can help Chris get a buck during rifle.

They woke up early and hiked up in the hills south of Ellensburg. By 9am Chris had shot his buck! It's a 4x4 and he got it at 265yds. Then came the hard part... they had to drag it out. And they were a mile and a half into the hills. By the time they got the buck back to the road, they'd rubbed off all the skin on the flanks on both sides. haha They're exhausted to say the least.

Chris is extatic and I couldn't be more proud of him. Carver doesn't know what exactly to think so far. But he got an up-close look at Bambi's daddy. :)

Now, I leave you with pictures. Just to let you know, there are some that are more 'graphic' than others.

An ode to Bambi

This morning Carver learned a new word! He had the flu yesterday (poor baby!) but feels a lot better this morning. I was on the computer and he was standing next to my and pointed to a flower on the screen. I said 'flower' and he said it back to me! It was really clear too! So I pointed to the flowers on my coffee cup and he said 'flower'. I had to wake Chris up and tell him. haha Carver was very proud of himself. :)

A Walk

A couple weekends ago, Chris, Carver and I walked to raise money for CareNet to buy ultrasound machines for their facilities. These machines are expensive and 96% of women that see their unborn baby will chose life (over abortion). We felt that this was an EXCELLENT cause and wanted to support! It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. We'll definitely do it again next year. :)

900 champions took part in our 2011 flagship event.

413 walkers.
173 kids 10 & under.
117 volunteers.
113 bikers.
84 runners.

$67,725 raised (so far).

1 mission: illuminate hope for pregnant women in crisis.
1 machine: delivered to Angelorum Next Step in Lynwood.
3 more machines scheduled for delivery OCT-DEC.

1 machine will see ~ 200 ultrasounds per year.
1 machine will see ~ 2000+ ultrasounds over its lifespan.
1 machine + 1 beneficiary = 1,950 choices for life.

How awesome is that?!?!

This weekend

We just got back from a relaxing weekend in Ellensburg visiting Mom. We just hung out with no big plans. Oh, except that we Skype-ed with Hannah Kinsley in IRELAND for and hour and a half! I've missed her so much! We definitely need to get plans together to go visit her. :) Other than that, we played Ticket to Ride (kinda like Risk), and Apples to Apples with Mary, Josie and Mary's boyfriend and his son.

I love going over to Ellensburg. It such a difference to Gig Harbor. Everything goes at a slower pace. And Carver absolutely LOVES his Nana and Maggie Girl haha

What did you do this weekend?
