Words

Carver is supposed to know 3 words by the time he's 15mo to be on track developmentally. Well... he's already got 7 words under his belt! They are:
  • Mama
  • Dada
  • Dog
  • Bird
  • Hi
  • Love you
  • Yeah
He has some others but he doesn't say them very often.

Good job Monkey!!!

We have a healthy baby! (surprise, surprise!)

Carver had his well-baby doctor appt last tuesday. He did a great job and loves his doctor and nurse! :) Here's his stats from the appointment.

  • He weighs 19lb 7oz - he needs to gain 9oz before we can change to the big boy carseat but we'll probably wait until he's 22lb so that we can put the carseat forward facing (the weight limit for the carseat we bought.)
  • He is 30in long. Since he's so skinny, it makes him look a lot taller.
  • He's in the 5th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for height, and 50th percentile for head circumference. He's been in these percentiles the whole time so we're not concerned about his weight.
  • He got 4 shots and cried (of course) but was smiling and talking by the time we got to the car.
  • We've been given the green light to introduce whole milk to his diet. This means that I'll probably start weening Carver off the boob :'( I'm not looking forward to it but I know it has to happen at some point so we're going to take it really slow.
  • Chris got to come to the appt with us (a first!) so that was nice. But of course he snuck out before the needles appeared.
That's about how the appt went. He's growing up so fast! We go back in at 15mo just for a shot. I'll probably ask them to weigh him while we're in there.

The first thing he did was proceed to take all of the monkeys off and throw them on the floor.

and we're done. He didn't even get to the actual cake.

First boo boo

He somehow cut himself with his little red wagon June 4th. It was actually bleeding so we cleaned it out and put a bandaid on it. Since it was on his knee, the scab came off and he now has his first scar. Poor guy but it's going to be the first of many!

365 days, 52 weeks, 12 months...

... ONE YEAR!!!!! I can't believe that a year has passed already! I'll probably say this every year but it seems like Carver was just born. So much has gone on in the last year. We're having his birthday party today with a bunch of friends and family. Here's some stats since last month.

  • He can officially stand for about 2 seconds before he sinks to the floor.
  • He LOVES pickles and as of last night, lemons! He just nommed it down like it was nothing.
  • He loves to pick up his toys and put them in their basket. We just start singing the clean up song and he knows what to do.
  • He's slowly starting to grow out of 6mo clothes (i know!) and is still comfortably in size 1 diapers.
  • We've added pears to the diet and will be adding peaches once the party's over. Mama just had a little too much going on to add another fruit lately.
  • He'll point out the window and say baa when we ask him where the birds are.
  • We have his big boy carseat but are waiting until after tuesday's doctor appt to see if we'll put it rear facing or forward facing (depends on how much he weighs)
  • He has a new love obsession for his cousin Alea (and Tyler too). He followed her all around the house last night. And at dinner would grab her hand and kiss it. awww!!!! such a gentleman.
  • He loves being outside with daddy. Doesn't matter what they do as long as they're together.
That's all I can think of right now. I'll try to update pictures so that ya'll will see the party pictures tomorrow.

The Maritime Parade

Kim, Tyler, Debbie, Josh, Carver and I went down to watch the Maritime Parade in the harbor this morning. We got started a little late (the line at Starbucks was out the door). So we didn't get to see the beginning. Carver's friend Sadie and her parents were in the Fire truck starting the Parade so we were a little sad to miss them. Josh got a bunch of candy, Carver LOVED watching all the excitement and Tyler slept. haha We snuck into El Pueblito for nachos while everyone was outside watching the parade and then we made our way back to the cars. Carver was so into everything that he 'forgot' to take a nap. When we got home he ate a late lunch and sacked out! He'd been awake from 730-130ish! And has now been asleep for almost 2hrs! He never sleeps this long. haha

Nana's coming over tonight so Carver's excited for that (and me too!)

Chris borrowed a bobcat for the weekend and has been playing/working on it all day... and probably all day tomorrow too. But he's getting the property all pretty for Carver's birthday so I guess I can't complain. :)

Please slow down!

You are growing up to fast!

I mean it, stop!

Please be my little boy forever and ever!

*Carver turns one in 14 days! :(

Memorial Day Weekend part deux!

We didn't do much the rest of the weekend. We hung out and played Ticket to Ride, went to church and RELAXED!!! It is always so relaxing in Ellensburg. I love it!
