Wow and Chicks
Carver has taken on an alternate personality. He becomes a cat named Wow. When he's Wow, we have to address him as such. It's been pretty entertaining but can be annoying at times too.
We got some chicks a few days ago. On Saturday we got four - Happy Feet (black with a white butt), Curious George (brown/orange), Chip (brown with stripe like a chipmunk) and Goofy (white/blond). Chris set up a tank & heat lamp for them in the shop. They are all different kinds so they will lay different colored eggs which will be fun. We'll have to wait about 6 months for eggs but Carver is over the moon with excitement! I wish I'd gotten the expression on his face that first day. He kept saying that we had 6 chicks so the next day Chris picked up two more - Dale (black with stripe, like Chip) and Dizzy (a little darker than Goofy but not as dark as Curious George). Curious George has an issue with his eye (it gets stuck shut) so Chris picked up some ointment for him. The lady at the feed store thought it was funny that we got a $30 ointment for a $3 chick but we're not going to exchange him just because of a little eye issue. It seems to be getting better now. Chris and I have been designing a coop that will work for them. It has to be covered so the hawks/eagles/etc won't get them. I have one that I like but it'll depend on if Chris can build it. ;)

Mothers Day
I know I've been a little MIA. I'll try to catch up the last couple weeks but first was Mothers Day.
I had an easier day than I thought I would. We went to church and then hung out at home. The boys took a nap and when they woke up they made me some cards. The original plan was that I would run to JoAnns while they did that but that got lost in translation so they came with me. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to go by myself but Chris needed to run to Fred Meyer so there was no point in going out twice. I realized I didn't get a card from Noah and was pretty frustrated (which I told Chris). Chris didn't understand why Noah would get me something since he's not here but then he realized that he didn't get me a Christmas present from Carver that first year. So from now on he won't forget to include Noah. :) All in all, it was a good day though.

Year 27
Welp... I'm 27yrs old (and 2 days if you want to get technical). The day was harder than I thought it would be. It started rough and then I got coffee and went to Moms Group. I was feeling a lot better when I left. We picked up Chris and we went to Hello Cupcake (aka the BEST cupcakes ever!) and came home. The afternoon got rough again and I almost told Chris I didn't want to go to dinner but didn't. We went to El Pueblito (my fav Mexican place) and I finally got that margarita that I haven't been able to have in what seems like forever.
The thought that kept coming back is that no matter what happened that day, I would never be able to the one thing I really wanted. I know that Noah can't come back; and in all truth I don't want him to. He is where he is meant to be and I wouldn't want to change God's planning. But it's days like today that I know will be hard on me. I'm hoping, though, that since my birthday was so hard, Mothers Day will be easier.
For the most part, we've gotten back to our routine. We've had more good days than bad and that helps. Carver decided yesterday he wanted to have a "No Sassy Day" (sassy is what we call a pacifier). He did great all day yesterday but it took him a lot longer to fall asleep. So he was super fussy today but still didn't want his Sassy. But tonight he was just way too fussy and asked for it so I gave it to him. I'm encouraged though that he was the one that came up with this idea.
Well, did any of that make sense? I'm exhausted :)
